Following a slight improvement in air quality, GRAP-4 restrictions have been lifted. Several restrictions, including those on construction, were imposed under this. The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) issued instructions in this regard, stating that action under Stages I, II, and III of the revised GRAP will continue. However, the CAQM stated in an order that the restrictions under Stages I, II, and III of the revised GRAP will remain in effect. The order stated that the restrictions under Stage IV of GRAP have been lifted. People are requested to strictly adhere to the restrictions imposed under Stages I, II, and IV of GRAP to prevent further deterioration of the AQI.

Following a slight improvement in the air quality in Delhi-NCR, Group 4 restrictions have been lifted. However, Group 3 restrictions will remain in place. In fact, the AQI recorded on Tuesday was 378, which prompted the decision to lift Group 4 restrictions.

In fact, the Sub-Committee on Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) of the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) in NCR and adjoining areas had implemented GRAP 4 on January 17, when the air quality had reached the “severe” category.

However, implementation, monitoring, and review will be carried out by all relevant agencies in the NCR to ensure that AQI levels do not rise further in the coming days. Agencies will maintain close monitoring and, in particular, intensify measures under Stages III, II, and I of the existing GRAP to avoid the need to re-implement Stage IV of the existing GRAP in the NCR.
