IndiGo Airlines will stop all flight operations from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport’s Terminal 2 (T2) from April 15, as it plans to handle all its flights from Terminal 1 (T1) and Terminal 3 (T3), which are currently under maintenance. On Sunday, the airline officially said it would help with the required maintenance work to be performed at T2.
These IndiGo flights that currently operate from T2 will be moved to Terminal 1 as planned infrastructure upgrades and ongoing maintenance at Terminal 2 take place. The effect of this change will be April 15, 2025. The statement said that passengers should check their terminal information before going to the airport.
As a result of the shift, T2 will no longer manage all domestic departures and arrivals. T1 will manage these flights, and some domestic and international flights will continue operating from T3. The airline has also pledged to change its website, app, and customer communication channels to avoid confusing people.
IndiGo also requested passengers to reach the airport well ahead of time, especially at the beginning of the phase of this change, so that the additional time required to navigate and check in at the new terminals can be factored in.
This comes at the same time as the Delhi Airport authorities undertake a massive housekeeping and upgrade drive of their Terminal 2 to enhance infrastructure and passenger experience. Airport officials have asked all travelers to use airline communications as well as airport notices to keep posted for up-to-date information.
One of its key hubs is Delhi, and IndiGo is the largest airline in India by market share and operates hundreds of flights daily. This change also will allow the airline to run more smoothly between Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 until further notice.
