New Delhi: There was chaos at Delhi Airport’s Terminal 3 when an object resembling a human skeleton was discovered during security checks. Upon receiving information, Delhi Police arrived at the scene and sent the skeleton for forensic examination. Initial investigations revealed that it was a demo skeleton used by medical students for practical purposes.
Security personnel at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (Terminal 3) on Thursday recovered an object resembling a human skeleton. The incident caused a brief panic at the airport after news spread. Airport security and Delhi Police immediately launched an investigation and sent the skeleton-like object for forensic examination. Initial information suggests it’s a demo skeleton used for practicals by medical students.
Police officials said a preliminary investigation revealed it was a demo skeleton used by medical students for educational purposes. The skeleton was found in the belongings of a medical student, confirming it was not linked to any criminal activity.
However, to completely clear up any doubts, Delhi Police have sent the skeleton for forensic examination. Officials said the forensic analysis will scientifically confirm whether the recovered remains are actually a demo skeleton used for educational purposes or human remains.
One runway will be closed for 5 months
One runway at Delhi Airport will be closed for approximately five months starting February 16th due to infrastructural upgrades. Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) stated that Runway 11R/29L is undergoing resurfacing and technical upgrades. According to DIAL, flight operations will not be significantly affected despite the runway closure, and flights will continue to operate as normal. Passengers are not expected to experience any major disruptions at this time.
