On Wednesday, several areas of Delhi NCR, such as Gurgaon and Noida, received heavy rainfall that led to waterlogging and traffic jams across the region. The heavy rains caused water logging, especially in Gurgaon, as residents posted images of residual water that remained knee-deep on roads, making travel a big challenge. This triggered the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) to mobilize a yellow alert regarding the national capital of the unabated downpour and the probable inference.
Heavy rains were observed starting in the morning in Delhi, with the minimum temperature being recorded at 25.2 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity raised its level and reached 85 percent, which also made the atmosphere rather stuffy. Looking at the IMD outlook, the weather will remain unsettled, with light rains and thundershowers forecast for Delhi NCR over the next few days, with maximum temperatures staying comparatively low for the season. The high temperatures on Wednesday are expected to be 35 degrees Celsius, while the low temperatures for the week are expected to be 25 degrees Celsius.
According to the weather agency’s 10-day forecast for Delhi, conditions will remain cloudy with occasional showers and thunderstorms till at least September 14. Further, there are no other colour-coded alerts for the remainder of the week; however, according to the prediction, the capital might experience more heavy rains, especially on the weekend. The showers that occurred on Monday have waterlogged several areas within Delhi, including, but not limited to, India Gate, Janpath Road, R K Puram, Kalindikunj as well as Gandhinagar and therefore, prospects of a wet week are high.
The rain is expected to moderate the temperatures, but it is also expected to cause more off-and-on downpours, which will continue to affect the roads, sidewalks and traffic conditions. Organizations, as well as the people, using the roads, are urged to consider the chances of more interferes arising from the continuing conditions.
