New Delhi: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has set a goal to accommodate a population of 85 lakhs in five zones under the Land Pooling Policy. The plan entails developing each zone into a mini-city with the construction of schools, colleges, hospitals, police stations, and fire stations. In correspondence with this, the DDA will write letters to relevant departments to initiate the construction of these administrative buildings. Landowners participating in this policy will have a 60% share, with the remaining 40% allocated to the DDA.
According to senior officials, the creation of five zones is divided into 138 sectors. Several landowners are involved in this initiative, forming a consortium. On December 15, the DDA wrote to the president of the association of landowners in Sector-8 B, P-2 zone, proposing three options under the sector land distribution plan with a ratio of 60:40. Officials explained that more than 500 schools would be built in all zones.
In the sixth phase, consortia and landowners will be allocated 40% of the land. After this, the consortium will take permission from the DDA for the construction of flats and other activities on 60% of the land. Road construction will take place on 12% of the land, with streetlights installed.
Here is a breakdown of land use:
– 16% of the land will be designated as green areas.
– 8% of the land will house offices for various departments to facilitate public services.
– 4% of the land will be allocated for industrial development.
Under the DDA’s Land Pooling Policy, schools and colleges will be constructed, with landowners having a 60% stake. This comprehensive approach aims to foster balanced urban development in Delhi.
