Delhi: The Delhi Police have apprehended one individual for allegedly setting fire to a road barricade belonging to the police department, purportedly for creating content for a social media reel. The incident gained attention after a viral video depicted several youths burning a barricade of the Delhi Police. Subsequently, an FIR was lodged at the Nihal Vihar police station on Friday.
According to reports from a news agency, the Delhi Police stated, “The individual identified in the video has been apprehended, and efforts are underway to arrest the remaining suspects.”
In another viral video, two young men were observed obstructing traffic on a busy road in Paschim Vihar, Delhi. They parked their golden yellow pickup truck in the middle of the road, posing in front of it. This action led to a significant traffic jam as the individuals continued their photo session, blatantly disregarding traffic regulations and legal statutes.
Later in the footage, one of the men was spotted seated in the driver’s seat with the door left ajar, performing reckless driving maneuvers. A concerned citizen shared the video on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), tagging relevant authorities and denouncing such perilous stunts.
Furthermore, in a separate incident, a video circulated online depicting two girls seated face-to-face on a scooter driven by a boy. The footage captured the girls applying Holi colors to each other and engaging in intimate gestures. The Noida Police took notice of the video and imposed a fine of ₹33,000 on the three individuals involved.
Responding to a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Noida Police stated, “Taking cognizance of the complaint, the concerned vehicle has been penalized for violating traffic regulations by issuing an e-challan (fine of ₹33,000) in accordance with the law.”
These incidents underscore the dangers posed by irresponsible behavior on social media platforms and the importance of enforcing traffic laws to ensure public safety. Authorities are taking decisive action to address such violations and uphold law and order in the region.
