Delhi: After a fire tragedy in New Born Baby Care Hospital in Vivek Vihar, Delhi, left seven newborns dead, Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj ordered Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar to investigate the matter. The minister’s order also extends free medical treatment for the children in leading private hospitals for the medical treatment of the children and the compensation of the affected families.
Concerning the occurrence, Bharadwaj made the gravest of the expression and called for immediate action to deal with errant elements. He ordered officials to isolate and arrest any person who had a function in operating the baby care center.
To detail, the incident occurred on Saturday night; it left a big blaze at the hospital compound. In total, in 12 cases, infants were saved, while six of them died from their injuries. Six of the soldiers died, including one who died before reaching a hospital.
Using a social media account, Bharadwaj responded to the incident, fully acknowledging its seriousness to the population before vowing severe consequences on anyone who will be exposed for negligence in relation to the incident under investigation. He also used the siren to tell the public that anyone responsible for the act would be dealt with to the fullest extent of the law.
Despite the difficulties of getting updates from the health secretary, he went there to see things for himself and made it a point to be the one to address the media. It annoyed him the most that neither did the secretary respond, so he forwarded the directives to the chief secretary in expectation of facilitating the speed up of the inquiry.
While observing the fire scene Bryce speculated that the fire could have started from an electrical short-circuit and turbine oil, oxygen cylinder explosion. He assured that there will be no laxity in pursuing justice and change for the better in the safety measures.
See how the minister has offered a prompt response to such issues? This clearly shows that the government is ready to shoulder the responsibility of the maladministration to the public’s welfare. Even as more information is unearthed, assistance for the age appropriate care of the rescued kids and counseling to family members is still a priority.
