New Delhi: A day after cloud seeding attempts did not produce desired results in the national capital on Tuesday, the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur said that the attempt planned for Wednesday, October 29, has been put on hold due to “insufficient moisture in the clouds”.
AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj made a video and questioned the Delhi government’s trial. He wrote, “Even the rain is fraudulent; there’s no sign of artificial rain. They must have thought the god Indra would cause the rain. The government would bear the cost.” Saurabh Bhardwaj added, “Even the god Indra isn’t supporting the government. It was raining a little yesterday evening, but now even the few clouds that were visible are gone.”
It should be noted that a successful trial of cloud seeding was conducted today in the capital, Delhi. Three trials have now been conducted. A Cessna aircraft from IIT Kanpur flew from Meerut and conducted cloud seeding trials in areas such as Khekra, Burari, North Karol Bagh, Mayur Vihar, Sadakpur, and Bhojpur. Eight cloud seeding flares were released using pyrotechnics.
Explaining why the attempts did not work, IIT Kanpur said that it was because the moisture level in the clouds was not enough, however the trial delivered valuable insights.
“While rainfall could not be triggered yesterday because moisture levels were around 15 to 20%, the trial delivered valuable insights,” it said.
