The Delhi government, led by Rekha Gupta, is expected to present its annual budget for the financial year 2026–27 in the third week of March. Budget preparations have intensified, and brainstorming sessions with various departments are underway. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is expected to begin key meetings with senior officials from the Finance and Planning departments on Monday.
These meetings are expected to set budget priorities, review key schemes, and discuss new proposals. According to sources, this year’s budget may focus specifically on basic issues like electricity and water, so that announcements can be made that provide relief to the common people. Major provisions are also expected for infrastructure, education, health, and social welfare schemes.
Delhi government officials said on Saturday that the annual budget for the financial year 2026–27 will be discussed in meetings to decide on the allocation of funds and priority areas for various departments. These meetings aim to ensure that the government’s key schemes and important sectors related to the public receive adequate resources. An official said that detailed discussions on preparing the outline of the budget for the next financial year will begin next week. During this, department-wise proposals, expenditure estimates, and possibilities of new schemes will be considered.
