Manjinder Singh Sirsa On Delhi Air Pollution: Delhi’s record-breaking performance in clean air continues. Delhi’s air quality is constantly improving. The national capital Delhi has achieved 163 clean air days from January 1 to September 6, 2025. Which are classified as good, satisfactory or moderate AQI. This number is more than the clean air days of the entire years of 2016 (110 days), 2017 (152 days), 2018 (159 days), and is equal to 163 days of 2022. This claim has been made by Delhi’s Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa.
Manjinder Singh Sirsa said on Saturday that Delhi’s air quality is constantly improving. 163 clean days have been achieved in 2025 and the count is still on. Delhi is ready to create a record.
Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that by doing ground level work like extensive street cleaning, garbage removal and crackdown on pollution, we are reducing emissions and building a strong infrastructure for the long term. This reform is linked to the national goals under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi. With about four months left in the year, 2025 is on its way to set a new record for the most clean air days in the last decade, which shows the dedicated and data-driven approach of the Delhi government to improve the environment.
Our multi-pronged strategy, which includes technological support such as mechanised road sweeping, advanced bio-mining and responsible waste management, is fighting pollution and delivering tangible results. These efforts are evident in the 163 clean air days so far in 2025, which beat or equalled full-year results from many previous years, and set the stage for a record-breaking year.
