The current enquiry into the recent Bombing in Delhi has once again cast the light on the Al Falah University in Dhauj Faridabad, a university which had earlier on been subject to scrutiny, in the red fort blast case and the so-called white collar terror module investigation. New evidence indicates that the university possibly had a deep-rooted relationship with some of the leaders of the terror groups, and its activities and relations were back on the agenda.
Others go on to say that Mirza Shadab Baig, an Indian Mujahideen fugitive who has been implicated in numerous terror attacks in India was once a student at the university. Baig, with a reward of 1lakh on his head is sought after due to the 2008 Jaipur serial blasts, the 2007 Ahmedabad-Surat bombings and the 2007 Gorakhpur bombings. It has been reported that he graduated with a B.Tech in electronics and instrumentation in Al Falah University in 2007, one year before he disappeared.
Investigators indicate that Baig escaped on the real passport soon after committing the 2008 attacks and vanished on September 19, 2008 the day of the Batla House confrontation in Delhi. Intelligence sources have over the years shown that Baig, a native of the Raja Ka Qila Mohalla, Azamgarh, had been staying in a foreign country, and has been spotted in Saudi Arabia and then Afghanistan, where he was last seen in 2019.
The car blast of November 10 that took place in Delhi near the Red Fort where 10 people died has added more scrutiny to the university. The attack has been associated with four of its faculty members and a preacher. Dr Umar-un-Nabi who is the driver of the explosives-loaded i20, Muzammil Ganaie, Adeel Rather and Shaheena Saeed are believed to be the key players in the white collar terror network.
As the investigators find new leads that may possibly connect Baig to the recent Red Fort blast, the officials now hold the view that there exists a connection in the two incidences.
