New Delhi: Congress party candidates for three Lok Sabha seats in the capital Delhi are likely to be announced on Monday. According to Congress party sources, along with other candidates, names for three seats in Delhi may also be announced in the Central Election Committee meeting.
This time in Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party and Congress Party are fighting the Lok Sabha elections together. Due to the alliance, AAP has got four seats, while three seats have gone to the Congress party. AAP has announced candidates for its four seats. Bharatiya Janata Party has also announced the names of its candidates for all the seven Lok Sabha seats, but the Congress Party is still not able to decide its candidates.
According to Congress sources, the screening committee of Delhi Congress formed to decide the name of the candidate had earlier sent the names of three possible candidates for each seat to the central leadership. Later, the screening committee was asked to send only one possible name to each seat, after which the screening committee decided to send the name of one candidate to each seat. Now the Central Election Committee has to decide these names.
