Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched ‘Delhi ko Garbage se Azadi- Swachhta Abhiyan’, which aims to make Delhi clean, green and garbage free. She said that with the help of public participation and various agencies, we will be successful in writing a new golden chapter in the history of Delhi.

“Inspired by the Swachh Bharat resolve of Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, the Delhi government is launching a special cleanliness campaign across the capital from August 1 to August 31, 2025. This is not just a government initiative, but a collective resolve to make Delhi clean, beautiful, and dignified, with the government and the public joining hands as partners”, wrote CM Rekha on X.

The Chief Minister informed that this Swachhata Abhiyan will run from 1st to 31st August, in which various agencies of Delhi and citizens will cooperate under a common goal. For the first time, MCD, PWD, Delhi Police and other organizations will work in complete coordination. He appealed to the citizens to take responsibility of this campaign. The three best RWAs performing excellently will be given incentives, and a budget of Rs 5 crore has been allocated to the MCD administration for this campaign.

Several prominent leaders and officials were present at the event held at the Civic Centre, including Public Works Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh, Urban Development Minister Ashish Sood, Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Culture Minister Kapil Mishra, Delhi Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh, Deputy Mayor Jai Bhagwan Yadav, Standing Committee Chairperson Satya Sharma, Corporation House Leader Parvesh Vahi, Standing Committee Vice-Chairman Sunder Singh, NDMC Vice-Chairman Kuljit Singh Chahal and Corporation Commissioner Ashwani Kumar.
