Action against illegal encroachment has been intensified in the capital, Delhi. More than 300 slums in Madrasi Camp, located in Jangpura, have been bulldozed. This demolition was done by the Special Task Force (STF) on Sunday. According to the administration, this entire area was illegally occupied and notice was given before the action. During this action, a large number of people were present who protested, but in the presence of heavy police force, the illegal encroachments were removed.

According to the information, on April 12, the officials had pasted the list of eligible families for the flats allotted by the government on the walls of the colony. But out of about 370 families, only 189 were found eligible. After which, the worries of the ineligible families have increased.

In a notice issued by the administration to the eligible residents on Friday, it was said that trucks will be parked at Barapula Bridge from 11 pm on Friday in where they can keep their belongings so that they can be taken to the allotted flats. These trucks will remain parked till June 1.

On the other hand, the second floor of a tilted house in Krishna Market Rajiv Camp of Jhilmil Ward in East Delhi was demolished on Saturday. The third floor was demolished yesterday. Municipal Corporation officials said that now the house owner himself will demolish the first floor and the ground floor. Now there is no danger in demolishing it, but due to the tilting of this house, the house owner and the people of the two houses around it are currently staying at their acquaintances’ place.

The tilted house in Rajiv Camp was a three-storeyed building in 15 yards. It was built illegally in place of a slum on the land of Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB). Many other houses in this area are multi-storeyed and in a dangerous condition. Corporation officials say that DUSIB should take action against such houses because it is their land.
