New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal moved out of the CM residence on Friday, October 4, the party said in a statement on Friday. The party convener will move to an MP’s bungalow in the Lutyens’ Delhi.
Arvind Kejriwal vacated the CM residence at 6 Flagstaff Road on Friday after living there for nine years, relocating with his family—wife Sunita, son, daughter, and parents—to a bungalow at 5 Ferozeshah Road near Mandi House, which is currently allotted to AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab, Ashok Mittal.
Before leaving, the Kejriwal family received a farewell from the staff of their old home, with the former chief minister embracing them in appreciation. Sunita Kejriwal handed over the keys of the Flagstaff property to a government official, marking the end of their residence there.
The MP bungalow, owned by the Public Works Department of the Delhi government, saw the family perform a grih pravesh ritual upon entering their new home.
The family’s household goods were transported in two mini trucks. Kejriwal had previously announced his intention to vacate the chief minister’s residence during the auspicious Navratri period, which began on Thursday.
