Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Delhi Pollution
Air pollution continues to wreak havoc in Delhi. For the past month and a half, Delhi residents have been unable to breathe clean air. Along with the cold, dense fog and deteriorating air quality have now become a cause of trouble for people. Amidst the increasing air pollution in Delhi, the Environment Minister in the Delhi government, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, has shown strictness regarding the ongoing construction work in the capital.
In a video message released on the social media platform X, Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that a western disturbance and inclement weather are expected in Delhi starting this evening. Despite the implementation of GRAP-4, complaints are being received about construction work. Let me make it clear that strict action will be taken against the buildings of those who are carrying out construction in this inclement weather, and the concerned JE and XEN will also be held responsible and legal action will be taken.
The Environment Minister stated that no polluting industry, whether in authorized or unauthorized areas, will be allowed to operate within Delhi. We have conducted an extensive survey and, starting tomorrow, strict action will be taken against such industries and they will be sealed. He added that the health of Delhi’s people will not be compromised. He urged everyone to cooperate in making Delhi’s air clean and safe.
