The AAP leader and Delhi MLA Atishi, while addressing a gathering of AAP followers outside Tihar Jail, expressed the same concerns that the CM’s health isn’t up to the mark. They tested the sugar levels and assumed that he had a sugar level above 300 since the doctor insisted that an insulin injection is needed in situations of high sugar levels. Atishi charges Tihar jail leadership of violating Kejriwal’s right to insulin, branding the act unfathomable even during the time under British. According to Atishi, that was nothing but colonialism at its worst.
This protest emerged immediately after a report was tabled in the office of Lt Governor VK Saxena, the elected Chief executive of Delhi, exposing the insulin supply denial claims. The report cites a meeting with the doctors where oral anti-diabetic medicines were suggested and the assertion that Kejriwal never lacked the much-needed insulin medicines during the treatment.
Kejriwal’s arrest on March 21, in connection with a money-laundering case, placed him in Tihar jail since April 1. Atishi’s impassioned plea underscored the urgency of Kejriwal’s medical needs, drawing attention to what she perceived as political interference affecting his health care.
Then, Delhi Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj conveyed a message which was in line with Mr Johri’s message, alleging the contradiction in the Tihar authority’s stand. He further argued that the AIIMS chief still reported adequate services for patients with diabetes. Hence, when they asked for one of their doctors to be seconded to AIIMS, they did so because the situation had changed. Bharadwaj’s replies fueled the perception of the untrustworthy handling of Kejriwal’s health as his crisis management policies applied to all politicians alike, as stated above.
The escalating scenario made people worry not only about Kejriwal’s personal health but also about the quality of medical care in the prison questioning the very integrity of what he endures and the alleged political motives of those behind her care.
Since the debate went underway, the target changed for the consequences of this doctrinal intersection, as well as accountability and transparency sought by both the Tihar authorities and the governments of the Bhartiya Janata Party in particular.
