The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today termed the Supreme Court verdict granting bail to former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia as a “victory of truth”. Mr Sisodia was granted bail nearly 18 months after his arrest in the alleged liquor policy case.
Aam Aadmi Party said, “This has given a message that even dictatorship has its limits. 17 months ago, Manish Sisodia shaped the dreams of the children of Delhi. He showed that the results of government schools were better than the private results. Despite this, he was sent to jail by implicating him in a fake case. AAP leaders said that the aim of BJP is not to investigate the Delhi Excise Policy case. They want to put the leaders of Aam Aadmi Party in jail.”
Reacting to the Supreme Court judgment, AAP leader Raghav Chadha said, “The entire country is happy today as Manish Sisodia, the hero of the Delhi education revolution, got bail. I express my heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Supreme Court. Manish ji was kept behind bars for 530 days. His crime was that he gave the children of the poor a better future. Dear children, your Manish uncle is coming back.”
Saurabh Bhardwaj said that this decision of the Supreme Court has set a precedent for the judicial system of the entire country. The comments made by the court while delivering the verdict today will prove to be a lesson for all the courts. The agencies have not yet started the trial in this case. This is a complete conspiracy of the central government to put its opponents in jail and prolong the trial.
