New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) demanded that Arvind Kejriwal should be given a new government house. As He is planning to leave the Chief Minister’s residence after stepping down from his position.
As the leader of the national party, the party has stated that this is his right and also said, “It is a tool, not a facility.” Additionally, the party will submit a written demand for this to the Central Government.
Raghav Chadha, the Rajya Sabha MP for the AAP, raised this demand at a press conference on Friday. According to him, the Central Government provides two resources to all national parties in the nation: first, they’re given an office space in Delhi, the nation’s capital, and second, the national convenor or president of the national party receives a government residence.
Chadha claimed that all the national presidents of other parties, including Congress, BSP, and BJP, have received government accommodation, but the Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor, Arvind Kejriwal, has not received any residence yet. “We demand that, Kejriwal, be given government housing by the central government,” Chadha said. Additionally, a letter is being sent to the Union Urban Housing Development Ministry.
In response to a question about whether former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal would remain in the Civil Line residence until he receives a government residence?, Raghav Chadha replied that no, he will soon give up all the facilities he gets as Chief Minister. “However, since he is the national convenor of the party, he is entitled to legitimate government housing. This is the Election Commission’s provision,” Chadha added.
