RAIPUR: First Installment of the Youth Unemployment Allowance Scheme was released on Sunday. CM Bhupesh Baghel transferred the first installment of Rs 17.50 crore to the 70,000 youth that had registered under the scheme. The registrations had begun on April 1st.

The scheme was announced during the state budget presentation and a provision of Rs 250 crore was allocated to provide the monthly allowance. Under this scheme, unemployed individuals fulfilling the criterion will be given a monthly allowance of Rs 2500. Further, under the scheme, the govt determines to provide employment-oriented training to the youth so that they do not remain unemployed forever and it would help them find work in the future.

According to the eligibility guidelines under the Unemployment Allowance Scheme, the applicant should be a native citizen of Chhattisgarh. The applicant must be between 18 to 35 years of age on 1 April of the year of application. 

The minimum educational qualification of the applicant must be a 12th-standard pass. The applicant should not have any source of income, and the annual income of all income sources of the applicant’s family should not exceed Rs. 2 lakh 50 thousand. 

The applicant must be registered at the District Employment and Career Guidance Center. There should be a minimum gap of 2 years between the date of being the 12th standard pass (or above) and the registration date on 1 April of the year of application.
