JAGDALPUR: The team of 85 women bikers of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) recieved a grand welcome in Bastar today. The team of bullet riders covered a distance of 1,848 km in 16 days arriving at the most challenging Left Wing domainted area of the country.
The ride began from the India Gate on March 9 and concluded at Jagdalpur in south Bastar region of Chhattisgarh. ” We rode 350kms a day to reach our goal. We had a female doctor and a team of technical staff to look into our bike requirements during our journey, said Deputy Commandant Tara Yadav interacting with the media.
The women soldiers travelled from Delhi to Agra, then passed Gwalior, Shivpuri, Bhopal, Nagpur, Raipur and to reach Jagdalpur.
The CRPF has decided to hold its 84th Raising Day celebrations in Jagdalpur on March 25 with Amit Shah being the chief guest. This is the first time the annual event is being held in a LWE affected area. The women of the batallion will showcase their stunts in the event.
