Sukma: In Chhattisgarh, a woman was killed in an IED explosion by Naxalites in the Sukma district. The blast erupted in the Dabbamarka village, which is under the jurisdiction of the Kistaram police station. The victim, whose name was stated to be Kavasi Sukki, was on Sunday grazing cattle in the forest close to a narrow path. While in her normal business, she stepped on a pressure-detonated improvised explosive device that the Naxalites laid, and the result was a very big blast. She died on the blast spot on the instant, a development that caused some disarray within the area.

Local people ran to the scene after hearing the explosion and discovered the headless corpse of Sukki. The news about the death of the woman, which was really sensational, got around the area at least then twenty-four hours later, and the villagers reported the incident to the police. The explosion did not only kill but also created a whirl of fear among the people of the area.

The event happened on Sunday evening, when the sun set around 5 PM in the Sukma district, and it was confirmed by Nikhil Rakheja, the ASP of the police station.
