Bastar. A major development is expected this week on the Naxalite front in South Bastar. Following the surrender of 37 Naxalites in Telangana, rumors of Bastar’s Naxalite Barsa Deva surrendering have intensified. Police forces are on high alert throughout the region, and movement in the forests has been increased. Sources claim that Deva is gathering his entire team, including prominent figures like Papa Rao, Chandrana, Kesha, and Mangdu.
Following Hidma’s killing, the entire unit has weakened, and pressure to surrender has increased. It is reported that more than 50 Naxalites are preparing to surrender, including two or three DVCMs. Deva’s surrender is considered a major blow to the near-dissolution of the South Area Committee. Reports have emerged that approximately 50 Naxalites from the Tongpal-Chhindgarh Area Committee have reached the DRG camp. Security activities have intensified in both Sukma and Bijapur districts.
Meanwhile, five hundred and fifty officers from across the country will arrive in Raipur on November 26th and 27th for the DGP conference to be held in Chhattisgarh. After being received by SP and ASP level officers, they will be accommodated in different rest houses and other places. Also, soldiers will be deployed for security at the places of stay. Five companies of state police and central security forces will be made available for duty. CRPF personnel along with an IB team will be deployed at the conference venue to be held from November 28th to 30th. The SPG will be responsible for the security of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Central force personnel will be in the role of support.
