Raipur. The three-tier Panchayat general election 2025 will be held in three phases. Voting has started in 53 development blocks today in the first phase of elections. The color of the ballot paper for the three-tier Panchayat general election has been kept pink for the district panchayat member, yellow for the Janpad Panchayat member, blue for the Sarpanch and white for the Panch. In the first phase of the three-tier Panchayat elections, elections are being held for 27 thousand 210 Panchs, 3 thousand 605 Sarpanchs, 911 Janpad members and 149 District Panchayat members.
A total of 60,203 Panch and 14,646 Sarpanch candidates are in the fray. 702 candidates are contesting for the post of Zila Panchayat member and 4587 candidates are contesting for the post of Janpad Panchayat member. 9873 polling stations have been set up for the first phase of voting.
Officials of the State Election Commission said that in the first phase, voting will be held in 53 development blocks of the state on February 17. The development blocks where voting is to be held in the first phase include Masturi development block of Bilaspur district, Gaurela development block of Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district, Mungeli development block of Mungeli district, Bamhnidih and Akaltara development blocks of Janjgir-Champa district, Jaijepur development block of Sakti district, Korba and Kartala development blocks of Korba district, Raigarh and Pusaur development blocks of Raigarh district, Baramkela development block of Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district, Surajpur and Bhaiyathan development blocks of Surajpur district, Kusmi, Rajpur and Shankargarh development blocks of Balrampur district, Ambikapur, Lakhanpur and Udaipur development blocks of Surguja district, Sonhat development block of Korea district, Khargwan development block of Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district, Bagicha development block of Jashpur district.
Similarly, development blocks Arang and Abhanpur of Raipur district, development blocks Bhatapara and Simga of Balodabazar district, development blocks Gariaband and Mainpur of Gariaband district, development blocks Basna and Saraipali of Mahasamund district, development blocks Dhamtari and Magarlod of Dhamtari district, development blocks Bemetara and Navagarh of Bemetara district, development block Durg of Durg district, development blocks Dondilohara and Dondi of Balod district, development block Rajnandgaon of Rajnandgaon district, development block Chhuikhadan of Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district, development block Manpur of Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki district, development blocks Kawardha and Sahaspur Lohara of Kabirdham district, development blocks Kondagaon of Kondagaon district, development blocks Jagdalpur and Darbha of Bastar district, development block Narayanpur of Narayanpur district, development blocks Kanker, Charama and Narhapur of Kanker district North Bastar, Dantewada district South Bastar Dantewada and Geedam of Sukma district and Sukma division of Bijapur district are included.
