Vocal for Local: Six travel professionals embarks an expedition to 34 states & UTs to promote domestic tourism
Raipur: Who knew that in 2020, the only one travelling the world would be a dangerous and potentially lethal virus that spreads through human contact, consequently sabotaging all our dreams and confining us to our homes.
In this pandemic crisis, when international tourism is set aloof, 6 participants ( 4 From Surat, 1 From Mumbai and 1 From Ahmedabad), with the message of VOCAL FOR LOCAL and promotion of domestic tourism, have begun a road trip on 18th September from Surat. This trip will be for 36 days covering 18000 KMS.
To support PM’s vocal for local, these six travel professionals teamed up for 36-day long India tour to promote domestic tourism. These people will travel 34 states and Union Territories in 36 days.
On Friday, the Caravan of these 6 people reached Raipur, where Chhattisgarh travel trade Association (CGTTA) received and in a grandeur manner welcomed them.
While speaking to Lalluram.com, Saurabh Vyas, Director of Vyas Travels and a member of CGTTA said “In these unprecedented times, where each and every industry took a hit, tourism industry has seen the worst of it but to again uplift the spirit, it is necessary to promote one’s own country and their hidden treasures and we are happy to be associated with this campaign “vocal for local” and soon the people will again enjoy travelling just like before that’s our vision with this campaign.”
Mr Rajiv Shah (56)from Surat stated that ,”No sector has been spared from the economic downfall brought up by this pandemeic & the travel industry has also been badly hit.Now as we begin to Unlock in phases and everything is falling back to place, travel industry also deserves the speed to boost back.
“Currently international travel is not possible and with an endeavour to support the message VOCAL FOR LOCAL & persuade Indians to travel domestically , we have commenced this Road trip of 18000 kms within 36 days ,” he added.
Other participants along with Shah are Mr Ritesh Parekh(45),Mr Sanjay Patel(45), Mr Nitin Gupta(37) all from Surat, Mr Thomas Koshy( 48) from Ahmedabad & Mr Pawan Dubey(38) From Mumbai. They will be going to the 4 corners ( Koteshwar in west, Leh in north, Tezu in East and Kanyakumari in South) of India and Capitals of 34 States & Union Territories.They will also meet media, the local travel fraternity friends and agents. Besides they will also motivate people to begin domestic travel by revealing how all hotels & destinations are covid ready & looking forward to welcome tourists with utmost health & safety measures .This expedition will enable people to slowly & gradually begin travelling & the travel industry will revive thereafter for sure.
