Chhattisgarh: CM Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday performed the Bhumi poojan of Central Processing Centre of Chattisgarh Herbal and Ayurvedic Medicine Unit for minor forest produce in M Jangaon of Pathan block on his visit to Durg. Addressing the gathering at the Bhumi Pujan CM asserted an increase in the employment rate of the district and progress in economic prospects of Vananchal.

This unit is determined to process 52 minor forest produce for which t would also benefit the collector, Baghel stated.Processing units will add value to forest produce collected by tribes in forest areas of Bastar and Surguja because they are deprived of thr benefits by the traders during interstate bussiness, he further added.

As per the outline by the state govt, 83 hectares of land has been secluded for setting up processing units and 17.57 hectares of land will be allocated to private entrepreneurs to establish the forest minor produce-based industries as part of Food Park, which will initiate employment for around 5,000 people.Chattisgarh had excelled in procurement, processing, and marketing of minor forest produces and implementation of Van Dhan Yoana. The state had bagged ten awards by the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Federation of India limited (TRIFED).
