Bilaspur: Under the Amrit Bharat Railway Station Scheme, railway stations across the country are being equipped with modern facilities. In this sequence, work at Uslapur Railway Station is also almost complete. Preparations are on for its grand inauguration in October. But, a serious truth is hidden behind the shine of this development.
Even basic facilities like toilets are not available at the Katni end of platforms two and three of the station. Due to this, passengers are facing problems. This situation becomes even more worrying when we consider that platform two is the most important platform of this station.
Complained several times about the problem
Passengers say that complaints have been made about this problem many times, but no concrete solution has been found till date. In an ambitious scheme like Amrit Bharat, which aims to modernize and make the station passenger-friendly, ignoring basic facilities like toilets raises questions about the functioning of the railway administration. The entire focus of the railway administration and the construction agency was on the beautification and structural development of the station, but the basic needs of the passengers were ignored.
If a passenger wants to go to the toilet in that part of the platform, he has to go around the entire station or take a risky route like crossing the tracks. It also happens that passengers have to go to the toilet available at Bilaspur end. This is not only inconvenient but also a serious matter from a security point of view. Now that the preparations for the inauguration are in the final stage.
