Kondagaon: A serious road mishap happened on NH 30, just in the vicinity of Singanpur in Kondagaon District of Chhattisgarh.
It was a case of two trucks, where they collided, and most especially, the front sides of both parts of the trucks were severely damaged. As soon as the information about the accident was available, Keskal police and the fire brigade responded to the scene post haste. Finally, they managed to pull out one of the trapped truck drivers from the wreckage; he was seriously injured. The other truck driver was reported to be safe while he was hurried to the hospital.
The two trucks involved in the accident, it reported, out of which one was laden with tamarind being transported from Jagdalpur to Raipur; the said truck was near Memon Fuels at the of Keskal police station area, village Singanpur. The other truck, which was also overspeeding, rammed into it in the middle of the bridge on the opposite lane.
The blow was so powerful that the injured motorist had to remain in the car for close to an hour and thirty minutes. He was badly injured; both legs were trapped under the structure that collapsed on top of him. The injured driver was taken to Keskal Hospital for first aid; later, doctors moved him to Kanker Hospital as his injuries were critical.
At the moment, policemen and firemen, using a crane, are trying to remove the debris from the highway, and an investigation has begun to identify who was at fault for the accident.
The subject shows the hazards of excessive speeding, much more when done on highways or any fast road where small mistakes could cost lives. The safe rescue of one driver can be considered the only positive in an otherwise tragic outcome. The officials’ main efforts are now directed toward removing the remainder of the car and further investigating the circumstances that led to this kind of accident.
