Raipur: A two-day national convention of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) was held at the Science College Auditorium in Raipur on August 5-6, 2023. The convention was attended by over 1,000 chartered accountants from all over India.
“Today, in the two-day national convention of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India at Science College Auditorium, Raipur, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has announced to give 5 acres of land in Nava Raipur for the establishment of Centre of Excellence”, tweeted CM Baghel.
The theme of the convention was “Chartered Accountants: Leading India’s Growth”. The convention discussed a number of topics related to the role of chartered accountants in the economy, the challenges facing the accounting profession, and the future of the accounting profession.
The convention was inaugurated by the Chairman of the ICAI, Mr. Nihar Jambusaria. In his inaugural address, Mr. Jambusaria said that chartered accountants play a vital role in the economy by providing independent assurance on financial statements and by providing advice on a wide range of business matters. He said that the accounting profession is facing a number of challenges, such as the rise of technology and the changing regulatory environment. However, he said that the accounting profession is also well-positioned to meet these challenges.
The convention featured a number of speakers, including the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, the Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India, Mr. Ajay Tyagi, and the President of the Confederation of Indian Industry, Mr. Sanjiv Bajaj.
The convention also included a number of panel discussions and workshops on topics such as the future of the accounting profession, the role of chartered accountants in the digital economy, and the challenges facing the accounting profession.
