Chhattisgarh: The Sarguja police arrested two identified as members of an interstate gang involved in online fraud. As per information received the accused duped a youth from Ambikapur in the name of lending a franchise. SP Bhawana Gupta said the accused had promised to give a Lenskart franchise to the youth in exchange for the huge amount.
The cyber cell involved in the investigation is reported to have been extracting bank details and checking call history which revealed the location of the accused. The accused identified as Ayush Raj and Amarjeet Kumar were nabbed from Nalanda district, Bihar. The detained culprits have accepted their crime of duping 13 Lakh 81 Thousand Rupees, the cyber police added.
The TheAmbikapur police have recovered Rs 2.5 lakh in cash, a desktop set up and a laptop along with 15 mobile phones and 5 ATM cards. Additionally, lamination machines and webcams used in the crime have also been recovered from the accused.
