Jagdalpur: The Traffic police has started a special awareness campaign for safe travel. People are being made to wear helmets and explain traffic rules. To prevent road accidents, policemen themselves are coming out on the road and communicating with people.

Under the campaign, people were made to wear helmets with a smile. Police believe that accidents can be reduced to a great extent through awareness. This time, the campaign will also be run in schools and colleges to strengthen the traffic system. A plan has been made to explain traffic rules to small children as well. Local people appreciated the campaign and demanded that it be continued. People say that improvement will come not only through challan action but also through awareness. Jagdalpur city is now emerging as a road safety model.

Meanwhile in Bijapur, 20 Naxalites in the district decided to surrender and return to the mainstream. A total reward of Rs 33 lakh was announced on them.

Among those who surrendered, there were 9 women and 11 men. Among these, there were 4 Naxalites who had a reward of Rs 1 lakh each on their heads. During the surrender, they expressed their desire to join the mainstream of society. The administration assured them of the benefits of rehabilitation scheme. Police officials said that this is a big success in reducing the number of Naxalites. The villagers also welcomed the surrender and expressed hope that peace will prevail.

This incident is a positive sign for the administration in Naxal-affected areas. Bijapur is now taking strong steps towards coming out of Naxalism.
