The surrender of Devji, the Maoist organization’s current top commander, is being considered a major blow to the Maoist network. The prolonged, intense military operations, the damage to the network, and the increasing siege have led to a state of frustration within the Maoist leadership. The surrender of a top commander like Devji exposes both the organization’s strategic and psychological weaknesses.

On the surrender of prominent Naxalite commander Deva, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said that Devji was a prominent Naxalite who surrendered after Basava Raju was neutralized. Information has been received that Devji surrendered in Telangana. There are a few more names left, some who are inactive, and they will also be made to surrender. Work is underway to ensure their reintegration into the mainstream. Arrangements are also being made for bank balances, marriages, and farming.
