Kondagaon: A tragic accident occurred during a Kabaddi match in Chhattisgarh’s Kondagaon district. The weather deteriorated during the match in the village of Raoswahi in the Baderajpur block. Due to a strong storm and hurricane, the tent erected on the field was uprooted and collided with an 11 KV power line. Three players died due to electric shock. About half a dozen people fell unconscious at the spot. After receiving information about the incident, District BJP President Sevak Ram Netam and other public representatives reached the hospital. 

According to reports, a kabaddi match was held on Friday in the village of Raosawahi in the Baderajpur block. The incident is reported to have occurred between 10 and 11 am. After the match began, the weather deteriorated and a strong storm began. During this, a tent erected on the field was uprooted and hit an 11 kV power line, causing more than half a dozen people to fall unconscious. Villagers immediately rushed the injured to Vishrampuri Hospital.

Kabaddi leader among the dead, 2 injured referred to district hospital

A kabaddi leader is among the deceased. Three young men injured in the accident were undergoing treatment at Vishrampuri Hospital. Two of them have been referred to the district hospital. District Panchayat member Ramcharan Shori has demanded compensation from the government for the families of the three deceased and injured. Vishrampuri police are investigating.

  • Sunil Shori, 25, resident of Banskot

All the deceased were from different villages.

The injured were Shivam Das, 16, a resident of Banskot; Suvilal Markam, 25, a resident of Raoswahi.
