Chattisgarh -Telangana: An encounter sparked between Mulugu district police, Greyhounds and Naxals at Venkatapur and Chhattisgarh border this morning.

According to Mulugu SP, at least 3 Naxalites have been gunned down in Venkatapur. Sources reveal heavy damage inflicted upon the maoist community. As per information form ground sources One SLR, AK-47, machine gun, and explosive materials were recovered from the spot. The encounter spot is reportedly under the jurisdiction of the Peruru police station of the Wazedu mandal of Mulugu district.

Officials from the Telangana Police and Telangana Grey Hounds and Bastar IG Sundarraj P have confirmed that all Indian Jawans are safe and the operation terminated on a victorious note.

This anti- naxal operation comes on the heels of the latest high level meeting chaired by Home Minister Amit Shah, where the cabinet decided to stand put against the naxals. Chief Ministers or representatives of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh had attended the meeting laying down strategies to security agaisnt Naxals.
