Bilaspur: The threat of swine flu is looming in Chhattisgarh as another patient suffering from swine flu has died. Deaths due to swine flu have created panic in the health department. It is being told that 66-year-old Vijay Singh, a resident of Mangala in Bilaspur, was undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital for the last one week, but he died due to no improvement in his condition.
So far, a total of 7 active cases of swine flu have been registered in Bilaspur district, out of which 3 patients have died. Earlier, one woman each in Korea and Janjgir Champa had died of swine flu. Late night, one patient died in Bilaspur. The treatment of the remaining 4 patients is still going on.
The first case of death due to swine flu is of a 51 year old woman resident of village Pandopara of Koriya district. The woman was admitted to the district hospital. Swine flu was confirmed in the test. She was referred to Apollo hospital on 4th August. The woman’s condition kept deteriorating. She was having difficulty in breathing. She was also put on ventilator, but died on Friday.
The second case is of a 66-year-old woman living in village Lakshanpur in Janjgir Champa. The woman was admitted to the hospital on 6 August. After her breathing problem increased, the family took her out of Apollo Hospital on the morning of 8 August to a private hospital in the city, where the patient died.
After malaria and diarrhea, the threat of swine flu is also increasing continuously, which has increased the challenges for the health department. The health department has appealed to the people to be cautious.
