Chhattisgarh: Saint Mahamandaleshwar Swami Shardanand Saraswati, the head of Mrityunjay Seva Ashram Amarkantak and Devi Sampad Mandal Mainpuri Sanstha, passed away on Sunday night. Paramhansa Swami Shardananda Saraswati’s health suddenly deteriorated in Prayagraj, and he was rushed to Medanta Hospital soon after, by his disciples. But he could not be saved and on Sunday, he breathed his last late in the night.

According to the official statement by the Ashram authorities, his mortal remains will be kept today at Ekrasanand Ashram in Mainpuri where he will be given samadhi. The samadhi will be established at the Ekrasanand Ashram in Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh at 4 pm. There is a wave of mourning in the sadhu society of Amarkantak and the people there due to the sudden death of Swami Shardanand. His disciples are also mourning heavily due to his untimely demise.

For the ones who don’t know, Amarkantak is Mrityunjay Ashram is one of the main ashrams in the area which was established by Saint Mahamandaleshwar Swami Shardanand Saraswat. He was also the President of Devi Sampad Mandal and initiated the marriage of tribal couples every year at Swami Bhajananand Ashram in Kendai. His teachings and principles have benefited hundred and thousands of his disciples throughout his life.

Not only in Uttar Pradesh but his mourning is being witnessed among his followers in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, including Bilaspur, Amarkantak, and Pendra. They are very heartbroken due to the untimely death of Swami Shardanand Saraswati, who organized many big yagyas as well.
