Raipur, Chhatisgarh: A road accident took place in Raipur on Monday morning. An SUV overturned and fell on the divider. People sitting inside got hurt. They were sent to the hospital with the help of local passersby. Kotwali police is investigating this accident. The upper part of the vehicle has also been damaged.
This accident happened near Kalibari in Raipur. The car overturned right in front of Gurukul College. People pulled out three people trapped in the car. The injured were taken to the hospital by ambulance before the police arrived. The car number is of Bijapur. Information is being gathered about the injured.
The police team that reached the accident site said that the vehicle was found to be overspeeding. It was going from Motibagh towards Pachpedi Naka when the accident happened. The car was removed by crane. Some people had also arrived to steal the diesel that came out of the overturned car and were chased away by the police.
Apart from this accident in Raipur, 4 other reports of accidents have come from the state throughout the day. An uncontrolled car on Baloda Road in Bilaspur fell into a drain 20 feet below the bridge. The businessman in the car was drowning in the water of the drain along with the car. During the accident, some youths present on the spot jumped into the water and pulled out the businessman riding the car. After this, the car was pulled out of the drain by pulling it from the tractor with the help of nearby villagers.
In another incident, three bike riders died in Pendra. The speeding bike collided with a container parked on the side of the road in the Kotmi outpost area. The collision was so severe that all three bike riders died on the spot.
In the third incident, a youth riding a bike died in a collision with a speeding car on the Raipur-Bilaspur National Highway. At the same time, another youth was seriously injured. The uncontrolled car went off the road after the accident. The car driver also sustained injuries. The incident is of the Patharia police station area of the Mungeli district.
