Chhattisgarh: The Supreme Court on Thursday, granted relief to the suspended IPS officer GP Singh. The SC ordered a stay on arrest against the sedition case registered in Kotwali Police station. He has been instructed to co-operate in investigations and provide appropriate details in the case.

1994 batch ADG GP Singh was suspended in the month of July after the EOW and ACB raided his residence and 15 other properties simultaneously. A case of sedition was registered against him after officials recovered disproportionate assets and handwritten documents that stated discrete conspiracy against the nation.

Following which the police officials summoned a notice to GP Singh for questioning. Despite which he failed to arrive for questioning. Subsequently, another notice was issued to the suspended IPS officer, in response to which GP Singh responded stating health issues as a reason to arrive for questioning.
