The security forces functioning around the Naxalite fields of Chhattisgarh have been conducting consecutive operations to cesser the Naxalites. On the other hand, a number of security personnel posted around the Naxalite fields have ended their lives by committing suicide lately.

News of another case of suicide of a BSF personnel has come out. The deceased BSF personnel has ended his life by hanging himself at the Koyalibeda camp near Antagarh town in the Kanker district.

According to the sources, the BSF personnel, named Swaraj PL, has hanged himself inside the Koyalibeda BSF Camp. The defunct personnel hailed from Wayanad, Kerala. The actual reason behind the incident has not been found out till now. Additional SP G.L. Baghel has confirmed the press about the incident.

Notably, CSF official Dinesh Verma, posted in the Sukma district, had shot himself dead with his service rifle on November 29. Sources said that the mental condition of Verma was disturbed for a few days before he decided to end his life. Another security personnel Dinabandhu Solanki, posted at Karli Police line of Gidam Police Station area, shot himself with his service revolver on November 21. 

After these consecutive suicide cases among the security personnel, Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu called a meeting with officials functioning under the Home Ministry, in which Chief Secretary Home Subrata Sahu, DGP DM Awasthi, and Director General of Naxalite Operation Ashok Juneja took part. During the meeting, the Home Minister summoned answers to the matter of back-to-back suicide cases of the security personnel.
