Raipur: Sugam, a mobile application for the realization of computerization of the process of registration of properties, was launched by the Minister of Commercial Taxes and Finance, OP Choudhary. This way, the application enables the users to travel to the site of the registered property and upload the three-sided photographs along with the geographical coordinates (latitude and longitude) directly to the registry software. Through this innovation of the Sugam app, the authorities believe that much progress can be achieved in combating property-related scams and cases of tax evasion.
At a meeting held in the premises of the Ministry, referred to as Mahanadi Bhavan, Mr. Choudhary was a key informant who underlined the significance of the Registration Department being directly associated with the public. He called on various authorities to endeavour to create working conditions that give citizens no form of discomfort when registering. To achieve this, he told them in detail to do away with the agents to get the public registered in their documents on their own. Mr. Choudhary also pointed out the delay in stamp cases and registrations and instructed the District Registrars and Sub-Registrars concerned to look into them and sort it out immediately.
During the meeting, Mr. Choudhary gave detailed discussions on different sectors, including revenue collections, documentation dealing, RRC cases, stamp cases, etc. The officials told him that almost all the old papers were scanned. They also said that the department’s search and copy modules would be fully operational soon. This will help such persons find an old document and download a copy by paying the recommended fee online without presenting themselves at the office.
Subsequent reports showed that the department is steadily on course to moving operations cashless, paperless and faceless. Registration fees have already been paid through net banking and POS systems. The generation of model deeds through software is also taking place and through registry documents, the user inputs the required details so that the software required to prepare the same can be obtained thus saving paper. Also, it enhances the integration of PAN cards, which have been incorporated completely and the integration of Aadhaar is in process.
