Durg: A student in Chhattisgarh’s Durg district took her own life before taking her board exams. She returned home on Monday with her admit card and studied with her sisters until midnight, but in the morning, her body was found hanging from a noose. The student’s mother was the first to witness this. Hearing her terrified screams, other family members also came out of the room. The incident took place in Ghasidas Nagar, under the Jamul police station area.
The deceased’s sisters say that Narayani arrived home at 3 pm on Monday with her board exam admit card. Narayani was completely confident about her exam and had complete faith in her preparation. The elder sister said that she and her sisters studied until 12 o’clock that night, but when their mother woke up in the morning, Narayani was hanging from a noose. Seeing Narayani in this condition, the mother screamed in fear, and the young woman’s father and sisters also woke up hearing her voice. They all informed the people nearby and the Jamul police station.
Police are investigating
Upon receiving information about the suicide, police from Jamul police station arrived at the scene. Police exhumed the young woman’s body, prepared a panchnama, and sent it for post-mortem. At present, the police have not recovered any suicide note. The investigation into the minor’s motive is ongoing.
