Raipur: As per the directions issued by the state CM, the Dept. of Commerce and industries Chhattisgarh has been instructed to establish C-Marts in all district headquarters.
The super marts would form recognition for the home grown products of the state and promote Agri Bossiness of the state. As per the plan laid out by the CM, the first phase of the marts in district headquarters would spread on 8000-10,000 sq. Feet in case of a municipal corporation. If the district headquarters falls under the municipality administration, the marts are to spread over an area of 6000-8000 sq. Feet.
To enable a smooth establishment, Bhupesh Baghel govt has sanctioned funds from the schemes of the departments like Chhattisgarh State Marketing Development or Minor forest produce Association. The land allotment responsibility has been entitled to the Collector, the Dept. of Commerce and industries and the Forest Department.
The first C-Mart will be opened in Raipur following which all other districts would generate the chain. Home grown items like Ghani extracted oil, Kudos, Kutki, Maize would majorly be sold in these stores. Apart from these minor forest produce like Tamarind, Mahua, Harra, Bahera, Amla, and Honey would be sold here. Articrafts like Terracotta, Bell Metal, Bamboo and Metal products, leather goods, Kosa Silk and Wooden products are some of the other items that have been listed to be sold here. The state authorities have also decided to promote Herbal products created Laghu Vanopaj Sangh and the SHGs of the state. The main objective behind the installation of the mart is to promote cottage industry and uplift the economic status of the local farmers.
