Chhattisgarh: While most schools have reopened across the nation on Sept 1, Chhattisgarh also resumed its offline schooling today. The state administration allowed the re-opening of Classes 6, 7 9, 11 with only 50 per cent attendance.
The State Education Secretary and Commissioner, Directorate of Public Education, Dr Kamalpreet Singh on Wednesday had issued the notice permitting other classes to resume with 50 per cent attendance.
Classes 1 to 5 and 8, 10 and 12 were permitted to conduct physical schooling since August. Schools were permitted to resume if they fulfilled the pre-requisite of recording one per cent positivity rate.
Schools had an abrupt shut down in March 2020 as the pandemic fuelled. Since then the school’s administration resorted to online schooling and continued education. Since the COVID curve has now registered a decline in several states, the Education Ministry has resorted to resuming schools with COVID protocols in place. However, concerns for the third wave does affect the attendance of schools, further, the lack of COVID-19 vaccines for kids has stirred the parents.
