Raipur: Amidst the growing tussle over power in the state, Congress leader and State Health Minister TS Singh Deo arrived in Delhi today. Interacting with the media at the airport he informed that this was his personal visit and had not come to Delhi for any political meeting.

Earlier on Sunday, sources reported that Congress MLA’s were called to Raipur. Nearly 20  ministers including Home Minister Tamardhwaj Sahu attended the meeting as Mr Baghel prepared for confrontation. Sources reveal that 36 loyalists of the party have vowed to resign in support of Chhattisgarh CM. The supporters have coined a slogan in Hindi that read ‘ Kaka Aap Sangharsh Karo, 36 MLA’s ka istafa aap ke Saath hai’.

Meanwhile, State Congress Chief Mohan Markam refuted the occurrence of political turmoil in Congress. He said, “I don’t feel there is any turmoil in the Congress party in the state. Govt and party are working in synchronisation and whatever High Command tells us we will follow.” He added that he had no knowledge of CM Baghel resigning from his post.

On Friday, sources reported that Rahul Gandhi is set to arrive in Chhattisgarh in the upcoming 4-5 days to smoothen the conflicts within the party.  The internal rifts initiated after Health Minister TS Singh Deo stated that Congress had promised him ministership after 2.5 years of Baghel’s reign.
