Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government on Wednesday evening announced few relaxations in the existing COVID-19 restrictions in the state. As per the order issued by Raipur Collector, Saurabh Kumar, the maximum attendance capacity of weddings has been restored to 50%.  In some districts, authorities have permitted 150 attendants at weddings. Moreover, 50 people are allowed to participate in funerals, Dashgatra and other mortuary programs held in the city.

Earlier today, the Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district Collector also issued an exemption from the restrictions.  Durg district ADM Nupur Rashi Panna has also agreed with the recent guideline issued by the Raipur collector and levied the same in the district. However, it is mandated that all districts take permission from SDM of the area prior to holding an event.

Earlier, the state administration had permitted only 20 attendants in any social gathering. As the COVID curve of the state recorded a gradual decline, the authorities resorted to easing the restrictions. As per the data issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the state recorded only 300 active cases. So far, 9,91,283 individuals recuperated and 13,563 succumbed to the novel virus.
