Chhattisgarh: On recommendations of the National Disaster Management Authority, Centre on Thursday approved to provide compensation for each COVID attributed death. An ex-gratia of Rs 50,000 is to be provided by the state from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRFI the Centre instructed.
Abiding by the new enactment the Chhattisgarh government on Friday, called out to all the dependants of those who succumbed to COVID-19. The Secretary of Revenue and Disaster Management Department Rita Shandilya circulated a notice to all the district collectors mentioning the promulgated orders.
As per the notice by Ms Rita, the kin of the deceased would receive the ex-gratia within 30 days of application. As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare nearly 13,563 residents of the state succumbed to the novel virus, according to which the state would release Rs 68 crore as ex-gratia. The families are instructed to submit the dependant’s death certificates along with the prescribed application form.
