Raipur: A notice from the Principal Secretary of the Assembly, Chandra Shekar Gangraade informed the dates for the Budget session for Chhattisgarh Legislative assembly. The 13th session will commence from March 7 and continue till March 25, during which the House will have 13 sittings, the notice informed. The session would begin with an address of Governor Anusuiya Uikey.
CM Baghel who holds the financial portfolio will present the budget for fiscal 2022-23 during the session. As the session will be held amid the COVID-19 pandemic, precautionary protocols will be strictly followed during the sittings.
For several years, the Budget session for Chattisgarh Vidhan Sabha was held at end of January or the first week of February. However, the session was pushed as the Omicron fuelled the third wave in the nation. Speaker Dr Charandas Manhunt told reporters after a function organised in the assembly premises to mark Swami Vivekanand Jayanthi interacting with the media had informed about the delay.
