Chhattisgarh: The Bhupesh Baghel govt today announced to initiate the ex-Gratia program for the kin of the dependants who dies during the first and second wave of the pandemic. Bilaspur district Collector Dr Saransh Mittar informed about the commencement of the applications. The applicants have been instructed to submit their applications at the Municipal corporation office or the Tehsil office. All district collectors have been instructed to accept applications of the kin from today onwards, sources informed.
The state authorities have constituted a committee of six officials who would verify the documents submitted by the applicants. The applicants will have to submit the death certificate of the kin and the application form along with certain identification documents to procure the ex-gratia. The applicant would receive the ex-gratia within 30 days of application.
The Centre, last week had issued a notice instructing all states to provide ex-gratia of Rs 50,000 to dependants of the deceased from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF). Abiding by the notice, the Secretary Revenue and Disaster Management Department Rita Shandilya on Friday had circulated the notice instructing all district collectors to do the needful preparations.
As per Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 13,564 residents of Chattisagrh succumbed to the novel virus so far.
