Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government on Sunday, ordered a probe in three different cases registered against suspended IPS officer GP Singh informed officials.
As per the orders, three senior IPS officers of Chhattisgarh have been authorized to conduct the probe. The Director General of Police on July 14th and 15th had issued 3 orders in regards to the case registered against IPS officer Singh.
As per the first order, senior IPS officer Ashok Juneja would probe the case against IPS officer Singh filed on a complaint by Duralabh Agarwal on July 12,2021.As per sources, Duralabh alleged that IPS officer who was investing the case of a police atrocities against his father and his uncle in 2013 illegally terminated the case.
In another complaint filed on the same day with DGP, activist Manjeet Kaur Bal alleged that the IPS officer had helped criminal Kamal Kant Tiwari and provided him protection. “My request is to arrest Kamal Kant Tiwari who is the project officer in Panchayat office Durg. He escaped on paper in court but has been protected by GP Singh since 2015 without bill and getting promotion”, Bal said. Inspector General of Police Raipur Anand Chhabra has been authorized to investigate the case.
As per the order, the 3rd case will be investigated by inspector General of Police, Durg, Vivekanand Sinha in which Gajendra Yadav of Rajnandangaon alleged that GP Singh had ‘embezzled’ the money which was recovered from the Naxal leader Pahad Singh when he was posted as the IG Durg in 2018.
In the meanwhile, the search operation conducted by the Kotwali Police at GP Singh residence surfaced three laptops and a CPU. Sources reveal that the Cyber Police Raipur is examining the evidence. However, unable to recover evidence, a team of the cyber officials may approach experts from Bhopal or Hyderabad to retrieve files from the seized devices. Additionally, a 15 page diary recovered from the location is submitted to the QD branch of PHQ for handwriting matching.
