RAIPUR: Don’t feel like contesting the upcoming election- a statement made by Chhattisgarh Health Minister has stirred the political grounds in the state.
TS Singh Deo on his visit to Surajpur today responding to media queries on his decision to contest said- “I have not taken a decision till now…this time I have not made up my mind yet on fighting the elections. Before this, in 2008, 2013, and 2018, I felt like fighting the elections and I had made up my mind. This time I do not feel like fighting the elections but I will make it official after discussing this with my supporters.”
This statement by Singh Deo has sparked rumors in the political arena. Media reports speculate Deo’s next move if not contesting for the Ambikapur constituency might be a change in the party.
There has been a massive power tussle between Singh Deo and CM Baghel ever since the Congress trounced the BJP to form a govt in CG. Singh Deo, a CM contender claimed that Baghel had disobeyed the rotational formula to relinquish his position as the CM after his tenure of two and half years.
With the controversy gaining ground, Singh Deo resigned from his post as the chief of the Panchayat and Rural Development pushing the state Congress unit into further turmoil.
